Update Qlik Multi KPI

From April 5, 2025, the Multi KPI will disappear from the standard offering on Qlik Cloud and in May 2025 Qlik Sense Client-Managed will follow.

Retired!

Have you ever worked with the Multi KPI in Qlik? Then it is good to know that this visualization object will soon be retired. The existing dashboards with Multi KPIs will continue to function. The bad news: you will no longer be able to add new Multi KPI objects to your apps. In May 2026 the object will be phased out completely and will no longer be available in future versions of Qlik.

Why this change?

Qlik is constantly innovating and making regular improvements in visualization, interaction, and performance. Where Multi KPI was once the go-to way to visually display multiple KPIs, more powerful, flexible alternatives are now available. With modern styling options, layout containers, and dynamic navigation components, you can design dashboards that are both functionally and aesthetically strong — without being limited by the limitations of Multi KPI.

In short: Qlik opts for simplicity, maintainability and future-proofing.

Use alternatives

There are plenty of options to present your KPIs in a stylish and clear way. For example, combine separate KPI objects in a Layout container (such as a grid or column structure). With the right styling and interaction, you can create a minimal design that has a lot of impact at the same time.

Want to further enhance the user experience? Add navigation menus or conditional show/hide logic to display content contextually.

Styles? Create a custom theme!

Have you used CSS within Multi KPI to give your dashboards a unique look? Don't worry — that visual identity doesn't have to be lost.

With the help of a custom Qlik theme, you can easily translate many of those style elements (such as fonts, colors, icons, etc.) into a modern and sustainable solution. So you keep your house style, and your app continues to look sharp.

What now?

  • Check your apps: are you currently using the Multi KPI? Then this is the time to see which visualizations you can best adjust or replace. This way you avoid surprises later on.
  • Plan the transition: By exploring alternatives now, you can avoid stress when the phase-out becomes permanent. And who knows, you might even use this transition as an opportunity to refresh your dashboards!
  • Need help? Do you have questions, want to know which alternatives best fit your use case, or need support building a custom theme? Let us know. Our team is happy to think along with you to make your dashboards ready for the future — without compromising on style or ease of use.

Note: This change applies to both Qlik Cloud and Client-Managed versions, so this is relevant for all users.
